On 22 June 2026, the CFive Intellectual Platform at Astana International University participated in the international conference "Central Asia in Transformation: A New Role for Regional Cooperation and Global Engagement", held at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. The event was jointly organized by the Bulan Institute and the Geneva School of Diplomacy and brought together ambassadors of the Central Asian states, representatives of international organizations, diplomats, academics, and leading policy experts.
CFive President Sapargali Shalgimbaev delivered the conference's keynote analytical presentation, highlighting Kazakhstan's ongoing institutional reforms, the growing momentum of regional integration in Central Asia, and the region's increasing role in the evolving international order. The presentation emphasized the importance of strong institutions, good governance, and the rule of law as fundamental drivers of sustainable economic development and long-term investment attractiveness.
The conference focused on the strategic transformation of Central Asia, with discussions covering regional cooperation, the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), and emerging regional initiatives such as "Invest in Central Asia" and "Made in Central Asia", aimed at positioning the region as a unified investment and production hub. Participants also examined Central Asia's growing international profile, enhanced diplomatic coordination, and expanding role within multilateral institutions.

A major outcome of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the CFive Intellectual Platform and the Bulan Institute. The agreement establishes a framework for long-term collaboration in policy research, expert exchanges, joint publications, international conferences, educational initiatives, and other collaborative projects addressing peace, security, and regional development.
In addition, CFive held discussions with the leadership of the Geneva School of Diplomacy regarding future cooperation with Astana International University. The parties expressed mutual interest in developing academic partnerships, launching joint educational and research initiatives, facilitating faculty and expert exchanges, and organizing international academic events. A follow-up meeting will be arranged to explore concrete areas of cooperation and develop a roadmap for future collaboration.
